How PostNet Helps this Brothers’ Family Winery Create Connections

Two men stand in Denver

Grown in California and served in wine bars across Colorado, Blanchard Family Wines is a unique, boutique winemaker born of two brothers’ passion for good wine and great experiences. Like all small businesses, these owners recognized they couldn’t grow without support from other, local providers, so they turned to PostNet for their printing, winery marketing, and more.

The Blanchard Boys’ Small Business Story

Being just two years apart, Mark and James Blanchard shared everything from the same interests to the same sports; the pair was so close that, as children, everyone often grouped them together to call them “the Blanchard Boys.” As they grew older, James joined the United States Air Force, and Mark attended a liberal arts college in Chicago. Although their paths diverged, they once again found commonality – a newfound love of wine, Mark’s stemming from a job at a local liquor store and James’ from his military time stationed in California’s wine country.

Together, they founded Blanchard Family Wines, following a simple, traditional winemaking philosophy: “let the vineyard, varietal, and vintage shine through gentle intervention.” After settling in the Denver, Colorado area, James recognized the Mile High City’s need for more wine experiences. So, the pair made the decision to grow their family winery business and opened their first wine bar in Denver’s bustling Dairy Block neighborhood.

“[We] love that our business connects people through shared experiences, education, entertainment, and great wine.”

With successful openings everywhere from Denver to Golden and Fort Collins, Colorado, the Blanchard Boys have a fast-growing, passion-fueled business on their hands with their sights set to international expansion! With growth like this, this family winery needs strong partnerships to help them make it happen and that’s where PostNet comes in.

How PostNet Supports Their Family Winery Marketing

Operating a growing business of this caliber means the Blanchard Boys have a lot on their plate, including the marketing of their family winery. When they first began to grow, the brothers recognized their need for a local printer and partner to help keep up with their winery marketing efforts. While proximity to James’ home is what first introduced the pair to PostNet, the relationship they built with Talia and her local team is what maintains the partnership to this day.

Depending on the season and the needs of their small business, this could be as simple as the occasional post on their social media pages or as complex and involved as creating marketing assets for a multi-platform marketing push. That’s why Blanchard Family Wines has partnered with the expert team at their local PostNet to help with their winery marketing.

“We value the personal service, timely and professional products, and the human touch [PostNet provides] that you don’t get with other online and national printers.”

Whether the Blanchard Boys need new signage to support their multiple locations or other custom-printed giveaway items to support their local outreach events, PostNet is always ready to help!

Tried-and-True Winery Marketing Tips

Today, PostNet designs and prints a wide range of print materials like cards, flyers, brochures, posters, banners, and menus to help them communicate with their guests and expand their marketing reach throughout the Denver community. We know just how important it is for Blanchard Family Wines‘ to provide their guests – and potential new customers! – with the best experience possible, so our team strives to design and print materials that match the high quality of everything this family winery creates.

With wineries and wine bars relying on in-person experiences, it’s important to marry traditional marketing tools and digital marketing strategies to effectively grow like the Blanchard Boys have shown. Here are a few examples of what we’ve seen work:

  • Use social media to showcase your wines alongside your uniquely-branded printed marketing materials (i.e., menus, etc.)
  • Partner with other local businesses by providing them and their guests with a brochure talking about the newest wine to join your menu
  • Bring fun takeaway items to local events and expos to connect with potential new customers outside your neighborhood

The Blanchard Boys’ Small Business Advice

Today, their California-grown grapes and Denver, Colorado-based wine bar – in addition to their other Colorado locations – have made Blanchard Family Wines into an award-winning local favorite.

They had this advice to give new small business owners:

“The opening of a new small business was full of excitement and adventure. There is hope for the future, and everyone is full of energy and promise. While it’s a ton of work and it feels overwhelming at times, when everyone is focused on a goal, the enthusiasm is contagious and drives progress.

Once the business is open, that’s when the real work begins. Every day is a new challenge and maintaining that energy and drive becomes draining. This is where you need to find partners, both inside and outside your business to remind you of your purpose and your goals.”
