How a Running Club Nurtures Young Athletes with PostNet’s Support

A group of children in South Hill Running Club t-shirts hold up a banner and posters to cheer on South Hill Running Club.

Rain or shine, South Hill Running Club brings young athletes together for their love of running. The co-ed track, field, and cross country team is a non-profit, coaching athletes ages 7-17 on the fundamentals of track and field, and cross country in the Puyallup and South Hill, WA, areas.

When Jenna, the team’s Head Coach, needed workout schedules printed for her athletes and families, she found PostNet. Today, PostNet helps friends, family, and coaches cheer the runners on with yard signs, posters, and large vinyl banners.

Read on to learn more from Jenna about what it took to launch the Running Club, and how they work with PostNet to support their runners:

What inspired you to start South Hill Running?

A friend of mine organized and founded South Hill Running about 12 years ago because the school districts in our area do not have a cross-country team for the boys until 9th grade, but neighboring school districts in Tacoma and Seattle begin in 7th grade. As a result, our high school teams are really behind. It wasn’t long before we evolved into a co-ed track and field club, along with cross country. I began coaching with the team about 10 years ago, and I took over as Head Coach in September 2022. We now have a wonderful staff and a thriving team of elementary, middle school, and high school athletes!

Any advice for a new or aspiring small business owner?

Do your research in your area of business. Spend the time networking in your area so you can be successful in your endeavors.

What do you love about your business?

I love the team “family” we’ve created over the years. I love my staff and coaches, and I appreciate everything they sacrifice and give to make this team the success that it is!

How did your relationship with PostNet begin?

I needed workout schedules printed for my athletes and their families. PostNet is near my home so I chose them originally because the location was convenient. But I continue to return because their consistency with quality, their quick turnarounds, and their overall friendliness make my job so much easier! PostNet has created yard signs, several posters, workout schedules, and a large vinyl banner for us over the years!

Which PostNet center(s) do you work with?

The Puyallup/South Hill/Sunrise location in Washington state. Genevieve, Jakobi, Cassandra, and several others here know me by name and treat me like family, and that is the nature of my Club as well, so I love working with them!

What do you value most about your relationship with PostNet?

They are so friendly and know me by name! They communicate clearly and promptly. They patiently walk me through processes if I don’t understand. They treat my projects as if they’re their own. I just can’t say enough good things about PostNet!
